Dr. Uwe Scholz is head of the research group Bioinformatics and Information Technology at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben. He is engaged in the management of research data, in the implementation of integrated biological information systems/data warehouses for performing in silico analyses and in research data publication regarding the FAIR principles. Furthermore, the research group is partner of the German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure – de.NBI and coordinates the service unit GCBN - German Crop BioGreenformatics Network (http://www.denbi.de/gcbn). Besides de.NBI he is partner in the European infrastructure network for life sciences ELIXIR. This active participation in these networks results in synergy effects for research. The services are offered to a broader community and training courses about research topics like Open Data are offered jointly.
