[http://diversityworkbench.net/Portal/DiversityDescriptions DiversityDescriptions] ist eine Applikation der [http://www.diversityworkbench.net Diversity Workbench] Datenbank-Suite. Im Gegensatz zu anderen relationalen Datenbanken der DWB basiert sie auf einem generischen Datenmodell (Hagedorn et al. 2016). Damit ist sie zum Datenmanagement in verschiedensten Forschungsprojekten einsetzbar sowie auch zur zentralen Datenkuration von Matrix-Daten an GFBio Datenzentren geeignet. Mit DiversityDescriptions können Beschreibungen von Organismen, Merkmale und Attribute von Forschungsobjekten auf "Item" und "Summary"-Level, Ontologien, Vokabularien, Datenbank-Modelle sowie Inhalte (Konzepte) von Austausch-Schemata verwaltet werden. Durch entsprechende Schnittstellen können Semantic Web-Repräsentationen wie auch verschiedene Workflows zur Datenpublikation bedient werden. Der Workshop ist eine gemeinsame Veranstaltung der DFG-Projekte [http://gfbio.org GFBio], [http://www.mod-co.net/ MOD-CO] und "Mobilisierung Spinnendaten".''
